Shana is accepting new clients, and she has evening and Saturday appointments available. She can be reached at 319-364-8741.

Shana works with children 10 and older, adolescents, and adults, providing counseling to individuals, couples, and families.  She had an ability to make unique connections with clients who feel marginalized or "one down" in the world.  She has a non-judgemental--yet straight forward-- approach in her therapeutic relationships.  Shana has experience in working with depression, anxiety, bipolar depression, borderline personality disorder, and teens who struggle with depression.  She has facilitated STEPPs groups for adults who have difficulty regulating their emotions.  Areas of special interest are sexuality, gender, and gay/lesbian issues.

Shana believes in equal treatment of all people and has a humanistic approach centered on self-competency and hope.  She identifies with a quote she once heard:  "To know hopelessness means that one has known hope."
